First Pendulum now SHM…
In what has been a traumatic week for the dance music industry, Swedish House Mafia have announced that their next tour will be their last. For years now, SHM have been a steadfast and important fixture in the electronic music world as they wowed audiences globally with their unique sound and vibrant stage presence
The news is shocking to say the least, the trio were only here recently, headlining the Future Music Festival for 2012 to rave reviews. The group posted a statement on their site which reads as follows: “Today we want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.”
It’s starting to look as though electronic dance music could be on the way out, with Pendulum also announcing their end earlier this week. Their genre of music has had a remarkable rise in recent years, it could be the beginning of the end for it.
The band said that their final dates will be announced in August. Could there be one last tour of Australia in them? I doubt it.
Kudos to the Mafia!
